I was called up by my friend, Rosswil Hilario, to ask if I am interested in participating for an infomercial campaign for a cause, to pitch in Production Design as well as for Costume Design. It raised my curiosity as he informed me that the project is with the National Commission on Culture and the Arts. When he gave me what is for brainstorming, it was on VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN. The project was a part of the Gender Awareness and Development campaign of the NCCA. And as we went through the details, we got excited.
We got excited more to get positive nods. The choice for the mother in the first of the campaigns, LARUAN, is Ms. Nina Dolino, who is currently nursing her new baby and yet went on to join us with this project. We know Nina as a character actress on TV on the likes of TV soaps like Imortal, Princess and I, etc. Then she is now happily married with her first baby. Her husband was in full support as he was behind her all the way during the shoot.
And we have our new spokesperson, Ms. Marina Benipayo. Marina is a former beauty queen, an actress, a teacher, a personality development consultant, and a mother. Check her website: http://www.marinabenipayo.com.
