With Chocolate, You can Never Go Wrong - CONFECTIONS BY SHAMUS

Once in a while, I get to savor sweet things. I control my intake of sweets because my family has a history of diabetics. Then I found out about a friend, Shamus, working on a commissary business of pastries. His specialty is on short breads. I was never keen nor really knowledgeable on terms in baking until, impressively, I got lectured on pastry. A shortbread is a pastry whose texture is a cross between a cake and a cookie. And when he described his product, I got curious and wanted to try them out, a sinful temptation. Then I asked what is his most recommended shortbread to bring at a friend's party, and he said that "with Chocolate, you can never go wrong". Hmmm, who doesn't like chocolates (unless you are allergic to chocolate). Chocolates are favorite pasalubong when a relative comes home from abroad. Chocolates are the best partner to roses when courting someone. Chocolate is the most popular drink, alternate to coffee and tea.

Call Me Vain Today

What will you do if you can't afford to hire a model? :)

You would either ask friends PRO-BONO or DO-IT-YOURSELF.

Breaking Through The Arts

Today, we started shooting Rosswill Hilario's dance video. He invited me to join the production team. For sometime now, I was being told to join the arts with my interest in production design. I, initially, exposed myself behind the scenes observing tapings for some TV soaps. Now, in this collaboration, it was an immediately realized project that I am getting hands on with on various aspects. It started from scratch of brainstorming for the story to the full production on the shooting days. Here are some behind the scenes still shots I tried to take while cameras are rolling.

Curry for Your Thoughts - At Singapore Chicken Rice

Singapore is known to be a melting pot of cultures and flavors. When I discovered Singapore Chicken Rice, a fastfood found in the corner of Times Square Ave., Shopwise Building, Araneta Center, Cubao, I was drawn. The prices are just right for those tight in the budget. When I end up on overtime in my area back in my work with B. Braun Avitum, I would take my dinner once in awhile in this fastfood.

Treasure Hunting in Thrift Shops - My Mom's Influence

I was asked to help out in Auntie Rose's Kabunyan Thrift Shop located in the second floor of Hansel Arcade, a commercial building along Aurora Boulevard, corner of Imperial Street, in the bustling business center in Quezon City, Cubao.

I was already 5 months off from being unemployed after I originally planned to go back to school, supposedly, to take up law. Then, my allowable period to be enrolled has passed since I passed the entrance exams and interview in one of the leading schools of law in country. Maybe I am not set to get into Law School, I may not have my mindset to it. So I may not really molded for such... I am not much of a smooth talker anyway. There may be other plans for me to be into. And I realized that I need personal income. So, although I went on with bar operations with our Restobar back home in Baguio, I found something more interesting to do, getting into retail, via my old time favorite, Thrift Shopping.

On Attending Weddings You Wish Was True - My Binondo Girl

I get to attend some weddings. And I got invited to one of the grandest weddings on the start of this year... That is if it were true. My friend called me up to bring my shirt, coat, tie and camera. We were attending a wedding, the wedding of Andy Wu and Jade Sy. Well, this is for the taping and just enjoying bits of roles as a part of the crowd while being able to meet some people in the industry, as well as being able to take snapshots in advance of one of the most awaited finale of one of ABS-CBNs highest rating telenovelas, My Binondo Girl.
