Experiment No. 1 - Pork Curry Ala Jules

It was just a very tiring day...

Came home from work... Alas-sais in the evening... Tried to catch-up with the American Idol Show in ABC 5... Then checked the ref for anything that can be cooked for dinner...

Here is what I came up with... Let me be the new urban peasant...

Experiment number 1 -- Final Product: Pork Curry

Equipments:
Burner - (ikaw kung gusto mo Bunsen Burner)
Knife - Butcher's Knife (bagong bili ni Oca...)
Chopping board
Sauce Pan - (unless gusto mo sa crucible, hehehe!)
Sandok - (or stirring rod?)

For the Ingredients, just read on through the procedures:

1. Slice the meat (pork yung nakita ko sa ref, mga 1/3 to 1/2 kg) - remove the fat.
2. Heat the saucepan.
3. Tossed the fat into the saucepan till nagmantika and saved the oil, hinayang din lang ako sa fat so inislice ko na rin for mantika.
4. Saute the garlic and onions that I chopped earlier with the oil I got from the pork fat (Warning! This is not safe for the heart). Anyway, nagtitipid nga e...
5. Toss in the pork meat. Add a little salt for it to seep into the meat.
6. Added a dash of Rum, then, I found out that there is only a little toyo and suka... I was lazy to go out and buy with some sprite or coke for flavor... My initial plan was to cook some pork steak (hehehe!). Emergency change of plans...
7. Add about half cup of water. Cover, and let simmer till meat is done.
8. Wash and peel some potatoes and carrots (whichever is available, ngayon meron pareho). Slice into cubes. Toss into the pan, potatoes first then carrots after about a minute or two. Carrots cook easily. Let simmer.
9. Get 1 bell pepper, wash remove core and seeds. You may need only half of it for flavor. Cut into squares and save the other half for other cooking.
10. Get some all-purpose cream... Yun ang nasa ref e when I checked what is inside, an opened package of all-purpose cream, I do not know how much of that left. Pour the cream into the saucepan and let simmer again a little.
11. Then get curry powder, add a generous amount into the creamy pork (to taste yan ha!)
12. If the sauce is not thick enough... dissolve about 1 tsp of starch -- bahala na if you have corn starch or tapioca - cassava starch (gawgaw in other words). Kung wala, settle with the thickness.. Ala ka magagawa. Edible pa rin naman e. Let simmer again till thick.
13. Check salt to taste.
14. Serve with rice...

This is not guaranteed na masarap sa panlasa ng iba... Alam ko ok na ito sa akin... Please note: Yung rum was not supposed to be in there kaso had to remedy kasi wala pala ako nung ibang ingredients, anyway inabsorb naman ng carrots and potatoes yung lasa ng rum e. Not necessarily na cream ang gamitin, ala kasi ako gata or evap e.
