Experiment No. 2 -- Chicken Sotanghon ala Rhys

Si Rhys ang nagluto ngayon... Namiss nya magluto ng lutong Pinoy bukod sa Adobo, Adobo, Adobo... Yun daw lagi kasi ang niluluto sa US...
Ngayon naisipan niya ng soup... Soup na very Pinoy... Tinola... Pero masarap ang Sotanghon na idagdag kaya eto ang recipe niya...

Procedure:

1. Wash chicken. Tinola cut. (Apat kami so mga, 4 pieces thigh portion)

2. Saute garlic (mga 4-5 cloves chopped), onions (1 bulb chopped), tomato (1 medium sliced) and a small piece of ginger (crushed) in about 1 tsp of oil (restrain yourself from too much oil).

3. Saute in the chicken, sprinkling a little salt (sabi nga, for the salt to seep into the meat). Till slightly browned in the sides.

4. Add water (around 4 cups) and let simmer in medium heat until chicken is done (around 20-30 mins).

5. Add in sotanghon (pre-soaked in water to soften, about 1 medium package).

6. Let simmer (around 3-5 minutes). Add patis and ground pepper to taste. ( Nagdagdag si Rhys ng kalahating chicken cubes to enhance the flavor of the chicken). Continue to simmer for 1-2 minutes.

7. Serve hot, with rice, of course.
Suggestion ko, kapag meron kayo, add young patola (kasya na 1 pc, peeled and sliced thinly crosswise) or upo (around 1/2 pc, peeled, and slice thinly crosswise) or zuchinni (around 1-2 pcs, no need to peel - fiber, just wash, and slice thinly crosswise) .
Masarap magluto si Rhys... Specialty niyan e chicken... Wait niyo kapag nagluto naman sina Bonny (specialty, sweet and sour) at si Oca (kakaibang tossed-in fried rice)...
